About Sand Valley

Coore and Crenshaw began routing Sand Valley in 2014 on sand left behind by an ancient glacial lake, and it opened in 2017. Like the rest of the resort, it is walking only.

In 2026 it co-hosted stroke play at the U.S. Mid-Amateur. We played it twice in June 2019, on the 29th and the 30th, alongside two rounds at Mammoth Dunes.

What stands out

  • Exposed sand, firm fairways, and big greens on inland dunes.
  • Walking only, with caddies available.
  • Coore and Crenshaw's first course for developer Mike Keiser away from the ocean.
